A Longitudinal Study of Population Level Health Problems and Interventions

Back to Wisconsin PBRN Page

Overview

The purpose of this project was to 1) expand the Automated Community Health Information System (ACHIS) electronic documentation system to include tracking of community and public health nursing practice, 2) determine system utility for documenting community health improvement processes, and 3) test the system’s ability to show the scope and intensity of interventions focused on priorities from a local community’s health improvement initiative. Findings: 1) interventions for individuals and populations could be differentiated, 2) the scope of population-level interventions could be measured, and 3) the system was reflective of the nursing practice utilized.
