1st Annual Conference 2008
Annual Keeneland Conference
The University of Kentucky Center for Public Health Systems & Services Research (CPHSSR), with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), recently convened the First Annual Public Health Systems and Services Research Keeneland Conference on April 9-11, 2008.
The conference featured presentations by major figures in the field of Public Health Systems and Services Research (PHSSR), and Keynote Speeches by James S. Marks, M.D., M.P.H., Senior Vice President and Debra J. Pérez, Ph.D., M.P.A., M.A., Senior Program Officer from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), and Stephanie B. Coursey Bailey, M.D., M.S.H.S.A., Chief of the Office of Public Health Practice for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all of whom are ardent supporters of the promotion and growth of this new field. We plan to make videos of their speeches available on this site in the near future.
During the conference, recipients of junior faculty and dissertation grants, funded by RWJF and granted by the UKCPHSSR, and the senior mentors of these grantees, were able to showcase their work and get feedback from other researchers to help them in their research activities. The conference also provided a networking forum during which PHSSR researchers could exchange ideas about new data sources and research methodologies. You may download the presentations and post any questions or comments for the speakers on our Discussion Board.
Information on funding opportunities such as the UKCPHSSR grant program, upcoming conferences, and access to an interactive learning community and other PHSSR resources, can be found here on our site.
