Topic: What is Evidence-Based Practice and Policy?
Dr. Brownson will provide an overview of the principles of evidence-based approaches in public health. It will include both the scientific basis for evidence-based approaches as well as the practical challenges of implementation.

National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO)
Topic:  National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is working to include more evidence-based research and tools into both its Model Practices and Toolbox programs and is also exploring ways to evaluate existing tools and model practices through PBRNs.  English and Todorovich discussed these programs, how they are connected, and also how PBRNs' work relates to these programs.  English and Todorovich have both worked on the Toolbox and Model Practices programs during their entire tenure at NACCHO.

Topic:  Studying Public Health describes the study of public health systems in eight communities in the eight communities in the domains of adolescent health, senior health, and preparedness.  The presentation discusses purposive sampling strategies to maximize extreme variation in key factors, developing surveys to measure public health systems, particularly as social networks, graphical and multivariate analytic methods.  Click the WebEx link to the left to listen to the webinar.
