On Tuesday September 8, 2015, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Office of Minority Health (CMS OMH) will host a conference entitled Medicare & Medicaid at 50: Their Past, Present & Future Impact on Health Equity. The conference will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1985 Report of the Secretary’s Task Force on Black and Minority Health also known as the Heckler Report, and how our knowledge of health disparities has evolved and the remaining challenges. This will be an opportunity for attendees to learn about the steps CMS is taking to reduce disparities, improve the quality of care and forge new frontiers in our programs to reduce disparities in the post-Heckler world.
