• Dr. Julia Costich also shared her research, 'Public health financial management: Building on survey findings', during the Ad Hoc meeting.
Practice Based Research Networks
• Dr. Glen Mays addressed the issue of 'PBRN and public health agencies: Can they generate evidence and improve practice?'
• Dr. Angela Dearinger, co-director of the Kentucky Public Health Research Network presented information from her 'Case-study analysis of development and initiation of public health systems research programs'.

• Dr. Glen Mays shared information on 'The dynamics of public health infrastructure: Using a delivery system typology to assess structural change and outcomes'.
• Rick Ingram, M.Ed., presented on 'An analysis of results from version 1.0 of the National Public Health Performace Standards local public health governance performance assesment instrument'.
• Dr. Michelyn Bhandari addressed the issue of 'Translating research into practice: A tool for public health performance improvement', during her presentation and also shared information on 'Identifying pathways for improving performance: Results from the NPHPS Program' during Tuesday afternoon's poster session.

Call for Proposals The Center for Public Health Systems & Services Research is hosting Round IV "Assuring the Future of Public Health Systems & Services Research (PHSSR)".
Young investigators, including junior faculty and dissertation candidates, are encouraged to submit proposals for an award of $10,000 to conduct research using PHSSR datasets from NLM's Health Services Research Resources (HSRR).

Call for Abstracts PHSSR is now accepting abstracts for the 2nd Annual Keeneland Conference to be held from April 7 through the 9th of 2009, in Lexington, Kentucky.
Abstracts must be submitted by January 16th, 2009. The submission form can be downloaded from our site, completed in Word and emailed to the project director.
Save the Date Make plans now to spend Springtime in the Bluegrass for the Keeneland Conference.
